Gaia Android Firmware started as a hobby, learning every bits and codes of the Android OS, for me it is an adventure and it's still is. While I learn and develop, I share the result with other users and see if something this good can be improve, and so it can. After several time, this project become a success with some said that this is the best firmware for their phone.
The original aim change after that, now, my aim is to produce a firmware that can be use to several Android phones out there mainly OEM phones, I myself as a user of OEM smartphones feels left out where updates are slow and technical support often difficult.
By integrating my own firmware project with the most wide support from developers and community, I believe that I can change that.
So why is donation important?
There are several cause to donate to this project. Several causes are :
- So I can develop this project full time.
- Hire more developer to work on better version each release.
- Purchase new devices based on the most demanded devices that users suggested.
- Technical resources such as web hosting, file hosting and technical related services.
- Appeal to OEM company to provide full support to this project, given the chance.
- Several unplanned cost.
In order for this project to have fixed release schedule, fix donation per month is important, it doesn't need much, what's important is a stable donations per month, you can say that it is a sponsorship.
